Anyone know anything about the depo shot and how likely it is to get pregnant/when it becomes ineffective?

Well I only got this shot once and was due for another one July 22 and it’s the 25th now so Im worried if I could be pregnant.,, how likely is that?? And any information On this shot is needed thanks

not very likely actually.
if you want to get pregnant in the next YEAR, you should not use Depo-Provera®, since it can prevent pregnancy for 6-10 months after the last injection. However, if timing is not an issue and you don’t want to get pregnant for a couple of years, then you can use Depo-Provera® (if it’s right for you) until up to one year before you want to get pregnant.
you need to keep getting it redone every 3months even if it lasts for 6-10 months after the last injection. because it starts to lose its effectiveness(if you still want it as a birthcontrol). it can even take you 18mnths until you get your period back(everyones different). it messes up your period patterns.
you can be fertile after 4 month from the end of your last shot but it can take up to a year for periods and ovulation to start up again.
after your period starts up again, id suggest to go on birth control pills to help newly regulate your cycle.
& miscarriages are common. :/
