You just have to wait for your body to get back to a normal schedule and be used to not having the constant influx of hormones that come with being on birth control.
You can start taking a prenatal vitamin, eating healthier, getting some daily exercise, and stuff like that to help your body be best prepared for a pregnancy.
I was off birth control for 3 years before we were able to conceive our first (I’m 13 weeks right now). So hopefully it won’t take your body quite as long.
Good Luck
I don’t think you can speed up the process and I know your frustration. We just started TTC last month, I stopped the pill June 20th and just got a period yesterday, it was very frustrating. The doctor said if by December, or 6 months, we were having problems, to go back in. I don’t think anything is wrong but your body needs to readjust to having less hormones and nature will take it’s course. As the others have said, eat better, take a vitamin, start cutting back on caffeine, alcohol, etc. and good luck to you!
All evidence suggests that you are just as likely to get pregnant the month after you get off the pill as any other time. And many women do get pregnant month one. However, whether you were on birth control or not, if often takes 1-6 months to get pregnant and for some women even a year or more. The pill can mask signs that it might be harder for you to get pregnant (such as an irregular period). Just have sex regularly (every day or every other day) especially when you think you are most fertile.
Best of luck,
Catherine
Just keep trying. It’s the only thing that you can do. Good luck xx
