How long does it take to get a positive pregnancy test?

I am TTC and I am one day late for my period. I have taken a hpt and got a negative. How long can it take to get a positive? This would be my first time pregnant. I have had sore breasts, swollen dark nipples and tons of veins all over my breasts.

My took right around 2 weeks…I used first response and the I could BARELY see that second line. It was like my eyes were playing tricks on me. So the next morning I took it again, and yep that same line got darker! Good luck

It takes around 2-3 weeks after conception, which usually corresponds with about a week after you are late.

depending on the test 3 weeks but that depends on the test so you can tell a early as the first missed cycle.
Not meaning to be catty but it would take as long to get pregnant as it would to get a positive. If you wat a child, here’s hoping for you.
2 weeks after the first time u ttc. the sooner u take it, the less accurate ur results will be.
i got a postive 4 days before a missed period but it can take forever with some people. Check the sensitivity of the test too…i know clearblue digital, first response are all 25 hcg whihc is pretty low the lowest is 20 and they are supposed to double every 2 days. i wouldnt analyze yur symptoms i was pregnant 3 times before this pregnancy and this one is nothing like the others and this one i am 8 weeks the farthest i have gotten
Try again in a week, though you are probably better off going to your doctor and having them perform a test in-house. Their tests are basically the same, but they are performed in a more controlled manner.
Blood test for preg.should be positive even few days before a period is missed.
I got a positive result 1 week after I missed my period. Your body is not going to show a positive sign on the HPT as soon as your pregnant….your pregnancy hormones are not high enough to be detected by the test. It usually takes about 2-4 weeks!!!
if you are 1 day late for your period try it in 4 more days. Thats how long I wanted when I was late and I’m pregnant now
a hpt should start to turn positive 12dpo however everyone is different in some women it can take weeks to show, so dont worry.
If I were you I would try again in a couple of days if af still doesnt show and if you miss it all together and still dont get a positive, I would visit your doctor who can give you a blood test for a really accurate result.
