Sleeping while pregnant tips.?
ok im 14 weeks an im not showing because im a very solid girl. huge hips and put on 7 kg since i got pregnant.(which im not happy about but if it protect bub ill put up with it)
anyway. now that im gettin there im starting to feel the presences of the bub. generally its a pressure on my bladder when ive been holding for too long and when i lean forward. i also can feel a firmer spot in my lower stomach of where it is,
now my question is how do a freaking sleep? all my life i have slept on my stomach but now i feel uncomfortable and no matter how i sleep i just cant get there. i can feel it in there and i need to pee alot but i can hold through the night but in the morning as my bladder is full i can feel strong pressure of the bub and have to go pee. i sort of manage to sleep on my side by im very twisted and contorted and if i sleep on my back i just end up turning onto my stomach. its something ive done since birth.
so whats the best possitions to sleep in while pregnant??? i know when i get full term im just gonna be stuffed.

It’s tough. Not only are you physically uncomfortable, pregnancy hormones can make it hard to sleep anyway.
Pillows – one behind your back and one to throw your arm over while you are sleeping on your side. Also one down between your knees will help keep your hips aligned.
The bladder pressure will ease up some during your second trimester as your uterus rises above your pelvic bone, and then will come back in third trimester as baby gets bigger and pushes low again. By then it would be good to be used to sleeping on your side, as sleeping on your back after 20 weeks is not good for the baby (impedes circulation to the uterus).
You might try sleeping in a recliner if you have one.
And after you have the baby it will feel soooooo good to be able to lie on your stomach again. Just keep looking forward to that!
I’m having the same problems. I am used to sleeping on my stomach. I have to sleep on my side now. Actually I’ve had to for a while, I’m 27 weeks now. I bought a pregnancy pillow and that helps me a lot. It helps me to stay on my side and gives me support. You could try that.
I am a stomach sleeper too! I had problems at first getting used to sleeping on my sides (they say your left side is best) but I eventually got used to it. I am luckily still able to sleep on my back because I am carrying so high. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to only sleeping on my back or sides but it is possible and I have no problems now. I do use 3 pillows under my head though!
Up until a couple weeks ago I was still sleeping on my stomach. My doc said that if I"m comfortable, the baby’s comfortable (thanks to all the fluid). Now I sleep on my stomach with one leg pulled up the side so I’m kind of turned. Or I use my husband as a body pillow… you’ll figure out what works best for you.
Congrats!
on your sides is the best positions. left side is supposivly better because baby get better circulation /blood flow. try a pregnancy pillow or a regular pillow will work. I sleep with pillow positioned all around me one under my belly a little one for my back and one in between my legs, Good luck and congrats.
Buy a pregnancy pillow, put it in between your legs. That will help with the pressure, and after 20 weeks they say not to sleep on your back due to the size of the uterus and the pressure it puts on your spine and nerves.. So go ahead and get used to sleeping on your side. You get more blood-flow to the baby if you sleep on your left side.. It helps relieve the pressure from the aorta. I know your pain, because I too love to sleep on my stomach.. But you have to adjust.
I found that sleeping with a large (in length) pillow between my legs while i slept on my side to be very comfortable. And if you have to pee during the night, dont hold it in, pee. I swear, I had to wake up at least 3 times a night to go pee when I was pregnant.
