I was on the pill for six years without a break until the start of the year.
When going off of it i asked the same question and was told that after the first month you are able to get pregnant.
Exactly how long it takes depends on many variables and everyone is different.
Personally it took me around four months before i felt like my body was getting used to not being on the pills anymore. Excercise and diet will play a big part in making you feel "normal"
Five months, a three week holiday, a healthy diet and sex (obviously) was all it took me.
Dont stress yourself or put too much pressure on the whole situation.
Many find they concieve when they stop trying.
Good luck
it all depends on your body, everyone is different. it took my friend 2 years to get pregnant after the pill. but some people have no problem at all.
you can always talk to your doctor to see if there is anything you can do to help
It really depends your body, the type of birth control you were taking and how long you were on it.obviously the longer you were on it the longer it would take for your body to process it out and achieve conception. I’ ve heard that your weight, diet and exercise or lack thereof play major roles. I know that it can take years for some women and some women end up pregnant the next month.
Take to your doctor they can start you on some drugs like Metformin and Clomid that will get your ovulation and periods back on track
depends on your own chemistry
I was on Ortho for 10 years!! Went off of it to get pregnant and got pregnant within 3 weeks. I heard because your hormones have been so deprived that they go nuts when off of the pills and actually works better to get pregnant faster. I ahve read right here on YA that women that have trouble getting pregnant their Dr’s get them on birth control pills for 3 months so what i mentioned can happen.
Good luck!!
I read your question and I understand your frustration, my dear.
Believe it or not, my husband and I tried to conceive for more than 2 years. We tried to refrain from sex for days and even weeks but it didn’t help.
Worst part is, there were empty hopes – I thought I was pregnant but in the end I wasn’t. It’s really frustrating and I understand that.
I was in Yahoo Answers and in this section quite some time ago and I ask a question similar to yours and a person recommended me a book. It’s entitled "Getting Pregnant Bible". I swear it’s like a gift from God!
It teaches stuffs like the seven things you need to do before even you try to get pregnant to ensure a healthy pregnancy; the appropriate diet to conceive; how to increase your husband’s sperm count; the ovulation cycle and many others!
I am already having my 4th child now! I really recommend that you try reading this book out. Also, they are currently giving free bonus books like fertility secrets and choosing your baby gender! It’s for a limited time only!

P.S: I just found out it was featured in The Oprah Winfrey Show recently!
